Freestyler Ivy Provines signs on to go Runnin’ with the UNLV Rebels

Ivy Provines out of Pacific Swim and Mount Carmel High School in San Diego, California has signed with the UNLV Runnin’ Rebels for next season.

Provines will stay near the West Coast, heading to Las Vegas where she’ll compete in the women’s-only Mountain West Conference.

Primarily a sprint freestyler, Provines should bolster the team’s depth in the 50 and 100 frees and could develop into a relay contender down the road.

Provines’ Top Times

  • 50 free: 24.61
  • 100 free: 53.36
  • 200 free: 1:59.74

UNLV finished seventh at last year’s MWC Championships, but were led by those sprint free relays, taking 2nd in the 400 free relay and 3rd in the 200 free relay.

Provines signed alongside her Mount Carmel teammate Georgia Reilly, a Penn commit who is on the left in the photo below.

I was in the first graduating class at MCHS!
I received a full-ride to UNLV back when girls could notbe pursued by the universities. We had to pursue them. Crazy huh?
I was packing to move there the night we found out that Elvis had died. Sad night.
I broke some records there. My times were nowhere near Ivy’s! I was a slowpoke compared to her!
Congrats and i prou of you and your parents and coaches!
