After a three-week break from competition following the season-opening Chick-Fil-A Invitational, the Bulldog swimming & diving team will have its first dual meet of the season at noon Saturday at Nevada.

The Bulldogs are coming off a fourth-place finish hosting the Chick-Fil-A Invite Oct. 6-7 at the Fresno State Aquatics Center. The ‘Dogs finished ahead of San Jose State in the five-team invitational that also included Nevada, which finished just ahead of the Bulldogs in third place.

Junior Ugne Mazutaityte won the 200 backstroke and had a second-place finish in the 100 Back to earn Mountain West Swimmer of the Week honors for the first week of the season. She had an NCAA B cut time of 1:58.55 in the 200 Back and is one of just two MW swimmers that has already recorded an NCAA B time this year (Boise State’s Ally Kleinsorgen is the other in the 100 Back).

Junior Serena Sedillo led the ‘Dogs on the diving boards, placing second among 16 competitors on 3-meter and taking fifth on 1-meter. Redshirt sophomore Irina Nikolaeva made her return at the Chick-Fil-A Invitational and had sixth-place and seventh-place finishes in the meet.

The Wolf Pack will also host Boise State on Friday before welcoming the Bulldogs on Saturday. Nevada’s dual against Fresno State will be its final home meet of the season, as the squad will honor five seniors prior to their final home competition.

Sophomore Andressa Cholodovskis was Nevada’s top swimmer at the Chick-Fil-A Invitational, winning the 200 Freestyle and placing second in the 100 Free and 200 Individual Medley. She has the fastest 100 Free and 200 IM times in the Mountain West this season. The Wolf Pack divers have not competed yet this year.
