The Fresno State women’s swim and dive team traveled to Bakersfield to face CSU Bakersfield in a dual meet Saturday afternoon. The Bulldogs defeated the Roadrunners 183-117.

“I was really pleased with the way that we competed today,” said head coach Jeanne Fleck. “We fought through the student-athletes preparing for finals this week and getting back from Thanksgiving break, but I think we raced really well in every event.”

The Bulldogs opened up the meet with a first place finish in the 200 Medley Relay, the team of Ugne Mazutaityte, Manuela Mendolicchio, Kimberly Harbert and Katelin Britton finished with a time of 1:47.38. The Fresno State team of Kali Conlon, Hailee Baldwin, Esme Gullickand Hannah Jarvis finished in third place with a time of 1:48.83.

In the 1000 Freestyle, junior Vanessa Dugan took first place with a career-best time of 10:30.80. Dugan also finished first in the 500 Freestyle with a time of 5:08.20.

Vanessa Dugan had a great meet for us today,” said Fleck. “Those were her first career wins in the 1000 and 500 Freestyle. Those wins were huge for us.”
Sophomore Ugne Mazutaityte led the Bulldogs in the 200 Freestyle with a second place finish (1:54.97). Senior Katelin Britton was right behind her finishing third with a time of 1:55.87.

As for the 100 Backstroke, senior Esme Gullick had a first place finish with a season-best time of 58.21. Junior Ally Short took second place with a time of 59.88.

Freshman Manuela Mendolicchio remains undefeated in dual meets with a first place in the 100 Breaststroke (1:04.18). Mendolicchio also remains undefeated in dual meets in the 200 Breaststroke with a time of 2:20.86.

Freshman Kimberly Harbert finished first for the Bulldogs with a time of 2:07.59 in the 200 Butterfly.

Senior Kali Conlon led the Bulldogs in the 50 Freestyle with a first place finish (24.47). Britton and Conlon tied for second place in the 100 Freestyle with a time of 53.85.

Mazutaityte remains undefeated in dual meets in the 200 Backstroke with a time of 2:03.78. Followed by Gullick in second place with a time of 2:05.84.
In the 100 Butterfly, Gabbie Libang led the Bulldogs with second place finish (58.37).

Gullick took first place in the 400 IM with a time of 4:33.20.

In the final race of the meet, the Fresno State team of Britton, Kennenmann, Mazutaityte and Conlon took second place in the 400 Freestyle Relay (3:33.97).

Senior diver Shelbie Holden took first place in the 1-Meter with a season-best score of 285.80. Sophomore Kelli Funk took third place with a score of 243.15. Holden finished second in the 3-Meter with a score of 281.85, followed by Funk in third place with a season-best score of 280.43.
