The Breakdown
- Fresno State competed in 16 events at the Blue/Red Intersquad Meet on Saturday.
- The ‘Dogs host the Chick-Fil-A Invitational on Friday and Saturday.
FRESNO, Calif. – The Fresno State swimming and diving team competed in the Red/Blue Intersquad Meet on Saturday at the Aquatics Center.
A tune up for next weekend’s Chick-Fil-A Invitational, the Bulldogs competed in 16 events with 12 individual races, two relays and 1-Meter & 3-Meter Diving.
Senior Darina Khisiamova won three races finishing with the top time in the 600 freestyle (6:11.24), 300 freestyle (2:58.98) and 150 butterfly (1:31.64).
Freshman Sara Lucchini also earned three wins posting top times in the 50 back (27.12), 50 freestyle (24.61) and 50 butterfly (25.68).
Junior Athena Clayson won multiple races finishing first in the 150 freestyle (1:23.24) and 150 back (1:30.51) while junior Eydis Osk Kolbeinsdottir finished first in the 50 breast (31.74) and 150 breast (1:48.24).
The swimming races were closed out by wins from freshmen Wiktoria Dabrowska and Katie Ueda in the 100 freestyle (52.79) and 100 IM (1:01.06), respectively.
On the diving board, senior Yuliya Tykha scored a 271.50 on the 1-Meter and junior Silvia Alessio took the top score on the 3-Meter (275.10).
Finally, the relay teams of Clayson, Caitlin O’Neill, Julia Matney & Samarah Melia swam a top time of 1:46.93 in the 200 Medley Relay and the meet closed out with the 300 Medley Relay team consisting of Melia, Clayson, Kolbeinsdottir & Celeste Madrigal finishing with a top time of 2:37.56.
