Fresno State’s Mazutaityte Named Swimmer Of The Week

Fresno State junior Ugne Mazutaityte has been named the Mountain West Swimmer of the Week, while San José State senior Cari Reiswig earned the MW Diver of the Week honors for competition ending on Oct. 7, 2017. It is the second weekly conference accolade for Mazutaityte in her career. For Reiswig, it is her fourth-career award.

WOMEN’S SWIMMER OF THE WEEK
UGNE MAZUTAITYTE, FRESNO STATE
Junior, Kaunas, Lithuania / Kaunas Antanas Smetona Gymnasium

  • Won the 200 back with a time of 1:58.55 at the Chick-Fil-A Invitational in Fresno, California, on October 6. The seventh-fastest time in the NCAA this season.
  • Earned a NCAA ‘B’ cut in the 200 back finishing ahead of two 2016 summer olympians from Cal.
  • Recorded the 14th-fastest 100 back time in the NCAA this season at 55.21 placing second overall.
  • Split a 26.43 in the 50 back as the lead-off leg of the 200 medley relay. The third fastest split in the MW this season.

WOMEN’S DIVER OF THE WEEK 
CARI REISWIG, SAN JOSÉ STATE
Senior, Galt, California / California Virtual Academies 

  • Took the title in the 3-meter with a NCAA Zone-qualifying score of 316.15 at the Chick-Fil-A Invitational.
  • Placed third in the 1-meter springboard with a score of 269.0, also qualifying for NCAA Zones.
  • Her marks on the one and three meter matched the best aggregate performance of any diver at the invitational.
