The Creighton Prep boys swam to victory at the Nebraska Boys’ High School State Championships. Senior Rush Clark raced to a new Meet Record in prelims of the 100 fly, setting a lifetime best 47.21. He went on to win the final in 47.74. Clark, an FSU commit, put up a lifetime best 49.11 in the 100 back prelims. He won that race as well with a 49.54.
Teammate Daniel Perry was the 200 free champion. Perry dropped over a second from his best in 1:40.73, outpacing Grand Island’s Jonathan Novinski (1:41.57) on the back half. Novinski, a junior, later repeated as 500 free champion in 4:34.61.
Lincoln Southwest’s Tommy Palmer swept the sprints. Palmer was the only man under 21 in the 50 free, winning the race in 20.63. Palmer dropped over a second in the 100 free at this meet. He won the final by over a second in a lifetime best 45.17.
