Australian swimwear brand Funkita has released its brand new Hyperactive range to coincide with the first major competition in Australia in 2016, the Victorian Open Swimming Championships. With some of the best Aussie swimmers kicking off their Olympic year in Melbourne, Funkita’s top models also turned out to be some of the top performers at the meet showing they are well on track for Rio.
Funkita’s long-time pin up Koti Ngawati showed her form winning the splash and dash of the 50m freestyle in a quick 25.65 seconds. Ngawati also picked up a bronze medal in her main event, the 200 metre individual medley, after Olympians Blair Evans and Alicia Coutts.
Taylor McKeown also claimed gold in her specialist event. It was a dramatic win for the Queenslander who overtook Australian Short Course Champion Georgia Bohl in the last 10 metres to touch the wall in first place, and take a step closer to secure her position as Australia’s 200m breaststroke queen.
With the Olympics looming, Hyperactive mimics the riot of carnival colour that host city Rio is famous for. It’s going to be a great year in, and out of the pool.
