Futures Qualifier Dylan Crane Joins Masters University

Fitter and Faster Swim Camps is the proud sponsor of SwimSwam’s College Recruiting Channel and all commitment news. For many, swimming in college is a lifelong dream that is pursued with dedication and determination. Fitter and Faster is proud to honor these athletes and those who supported them on their journey.

Dylan Crane, a 2022 Futures Qualifier in the 50 free, has joined The Master’s University in its freshman class.

“I am absolutely thrilled to embark on the next chapter of my swimming journey at The Masters University, a place where greatness is being cultivated. This exceptional opportunity allows me to not only compete fiercely in the swimming arena, but also to profoundly nurture my faith, ultimately shaping me into a formidable athlete and a steadfast believer.”

Crane is a graduate of Huntington Beach High School in California. At the 2023 CIF Southern Section Division 1 Championships, Crane finished 11th in the 50 free. Crane also competed with the Golden West Swim Club, where, at the June 2022 TYR Pro Series in Mission Viejo, he finished 23rd in the 50m free with a time of 24.71.

Best short-course yards times:

  • 50 free: 20.79
  • 100 free: 46.52
  • 200 free: 1:43.68

Master’s is a part of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics, and it’s a member of the Pacific Collegiate Swim and Dive Conference, which includes members of all three NCAA Divisions and the NAIA. At the 2023 Men’s PCSC Championships, Master’s finished 5th out of 9 teams.

Crane is a strong competitor for Master’s. With his best time, he would’ve placed 3rd at the PCSC Championships in the 50 free, ahead of any other Master’s swimmer. He’ll also find a strong training partner in Andrew Crabtree, a Master’s sophomore who placed 5th in the 50 free at last season’s conference championships.

In the first couple meets of this season, Crane has already racked up a couple of individual wins, including in the 200 back (1:59.81) and 100 fly (1:28.52) against OUAZ and ACU. At the Slug Shootout at UC Santa Cruz, Crane swam as part of the winning 400 free relay, which had a combined time of 3:06.77.

Crane joins Tyler LeDet, a transfer, for the fall of 2023.
