Genevieve Miller Named Mountain West Swimmer of the Week

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Air Force senior Genevieve Miller has been named Mountain West Swimmer of the Week, while Colorado State senior Emily Williams has earned MW Women’s Diver of the Week honors for competition through October 23, 2016. It is the fourth MW weekly honor of Miller’s career and the first career accolade for Williams.

The Mountain West Women’s Swimming & Diving Championships will be held February 15-18 at the Texas A&M Natatorium in College Station, Texas.

WOMEN’S SWIMMER OF THE WEEK

GENEVIEVE MILLER, AIR FORCE

Senior, Winston-Salem, North Carolina / Bolles School

  • Contributed 77 individual points as Air Force placed fourth at the Pacific Invitational last week.
  • Won three individual events and placed third in another, while swimming anchor legs of two relays.
  • Won the 1,650-yard freestyle with a time of 17:03.59.
  • Posted winning times of 5:00.47 in the 500-yard freestyle and 1:52.44 in the 200-yard freestyle.
  • Placed third with a time of 4:31.66 in the 400-yard individual medley.
  • Swam the anchor leg of the 400-yard freestyle relay (4th; 3:34.97) and the 400-yard medley relay (6th; 4:00.13).

WOMEN’S DIVER OF THE WEEK

EMILY WILLIAMS, COLORADO STATE

Senior, Laramie, Wyoming / Laramie HS

  • Placed in the top three in both springboard events to earn 12 points in a dual meet loss at Denver (155-101) on October 22.
  • Won the 1-meter springboard event with a score of 243.30.
  • Finished third with a mark of 222.38 in the 3-meter event.
