Georgetown Gets Verbal From Baylor School’s Hinson

Chandler Hinson, who attends The Baylor School in Chattanooga, TN, has verbally committed to swim at Georgetown University starting in 2014-15.

Hinson’s best events are the 100 / 200 free (46.0 and 1:41.0, respectively) and the 100 / 200 back (51.9, 1:51.2). His best times in each of these events would put him on The Hoyas’ top ten list as of today. Not only should he help The Hoyas score individual points but Hinson should also make an immediate impact on several of the relays as well.

Hinson won the 2013 Tennessee state high school title in the 100 free and finished fourth in the 200. He was also a member of the first-place 200 free relay and runner-up 400 free relay that helped propel The Baylor School’s boys’ team back up to the top of the podium after finishing second in 2012.

Hinson also swims for the Baylor Swim Club. He is still a member of Southeastern Swimming’s record-holding relay teams for 13-14 boys in the long course 200M- and 800M-free relays and the 200M-medley relay.
