Acton, Massachusetts-native Corben Miles has made a verbal commitment to swim for Georgia Tech beginning in the fall of 2017. Currently finishing his junior year at Acton-Boxborough Regional High School.

Miles broke the Massachusetts state record in the 50 free (with 21.12) the first time he won the event at the MIAA Boys State Swimming and Diving Championship Division I meet as a freshman. He placed second in the 100 free that year. The next year he lowered the state record to 20.49 and won the 100 free title (46.48). As a junior he took it down another .19 to 20.30, crushed the state record in the 100 free (45.15), and anchored A-B’s medley relay in 19.48 and the 200 free relay in 19.70.
Miles is a two sport athlete. After swim season ends he heads straight for the lacrosse field, where is a strong defensive player on A-B’s lax team, as you can see in his highlight video below:
Miles swims for Patriot Swim Club, but he hasn’t swum long course over the last several seasons so his best times date from the summer of 2013. His top SCY times are:
50 free – 20.30
100 free – 45.15
Miles would have been the fourth-fastest 50 freestyler and the sixth-fastest 100 freestyler on the Yellow Jackets’ squad in the 2015-16 season.

Really cool that Tech can get an athlete that talented. Thomas ‘Bo’ Hatchett, team captain and one of Tech’s top backstrokers from 2011 – 2013, transferred from Presbyterian College in 2010 where he played football for 2 years.
Tech has a “Diamond in the Ruff” !!!! A lot of untapped talent and a very well coached swimmer.
