Golden In the Pool and Out, Michael Phelps Hits A Hole in 1 on the Links

Some swimmers excel in the pool but not on dry land, while others are athletes through and through. Unsurprisingly, the GOAT Michael Phelps seems to fit into the latter category.

Phelps, who lives in Arizona, which is the 2nd most popular state for golf according to golf.com, achieved a rare feat among even the most dedicated golfers this week: a hole in one.

Though Phelps seemed pleased with his result, his wife Nicole was ecstatic. MP, meanwhile, simply shrugs and says, “Number two.”

Phelps presumably nailed this shot with his custom-made golf clubs, which showcase 28 stars on each club, representing the 28 medals he has won in Olympic competition. Phelps once also sank a 159-foot putt, possibly the longest-ever on live television, at the 2012 Dunhill Links Pro Am Championship in Scotland.

Following his first retirement from swimming at the conclusion of the 2012 London Olympic Games, where Phelps won 4 gold and 2 silver medals, the Baltimore Bullet delved deeper into the world of golf, a sport he had long enjoyed but never prioritized over swimming. Finally, in 2013, Phelps was able to flip the script and focus on golf, even being the subject of Golf Channel reality series The Haney Project.

Of course, Phelps would come back to the pool and officially retire from swimming after the 2016 Rio Olympics, where he claimed another 5 gold and 1 silver medals, bringing his career total to 28 Olympic medals, 23 of which are gold.

Hey, it can get 105 in the inland empire in California. Palm Springs for example. Sp. why picked on Arizona. Virgin Galactic is opening up a factory in Mesa.

Its growing a lot faster than California which is overpriced. In fact Virgin Galactic is opening up a factory in Mesa Arizona near Phoenix. In fact California fastest growing place, the inland empire can also reach over a 100 Palm Springs. This is why I stay in Arizona and not overprices Orange County or LA.

The man is used to wearing a speedo. Give him time, he’s adjusting.

Being the greatest Olympian of all-time grants you certain privileges…

IE: Wearing athletic fit clothing while playing golf in July in Arizona at a CC that likely uses having you as a member for publicity

Apparently, he videotapes every one of his tee-offs on the very, very off chance he hits a hole in one instead of the water.

If you watch the video. It isn’t of the shot. It’s his wife pulling up to the flagstick where the ball is in the hole. Slow new day maybe, but he wasn’t filming every shot.

his handicap is listed as an 8.1. Looks like he belongs to Firerock CC, Paradise Valley CC, and Silverleaf CC. His last 5 rounds were 85, 83, 82, 84, and 88.

He’s the greatest swimmer of all time. No question. And he can spam his own IG with his golf pursuits all day long. But this is not swimming news… but I guess it’s swam news, so I’ll shut up now 😉

I don’t think someone simply moves on from being the best ever and winning 28 gold medals. Kick rocks jealous baby.

Slow news day? What? Didn’t you hear Brendan Burns and Anna Peplowski had some best times at a meet at Purdue? Phelpsy here just doing his best to stay relevant in light of that news.

Phelps once also sank a 159-foot putt, possibly the longest-ever on live television – Ian Poulter just sank a 160 foot putt for eagle at the Open. Sources say this is due to the SwimSwam curse, as Phelps held the record for 10 years only for it to go down by a single foot mere minutes after this article is posted.

Zero chance. Do you have any idea how good those guys are? Attend one round of any event and try to watch the ball. The caliber of play in professional golf is higher than the level of virtually any activity on the planet. That’s why elite athletes from other sports are in awe of the top golfers. Michael Jordan can pull trump in any room he is in, unless that room also includes Tiger Woods. Those stories have been told many times.

Besides, Phelps has the wrong build for professional golf, as does Jordan. Too far from their work.
