GREEN BAY, Wis. – It was a successful Friday evening at the Peter F. Dorschel Natatorium for the Green Bay Diving team. Multiple personal records were broken in the diving-only invitational, which featured GB, Lawrence University, and St. Norbert College.
Each squad competed on the 1-meter and 3-meter springboards. Jordan Kuta, Andy Groebner, Noah Machiando, Emily Herman, and Caitlyn Greenwalt posted PRs for the Phoenix.
Kuta posted 242.75 points in the 1-meter and 231.82 points in the 3-meter. Groebner totaled 278.94 points in the 1-meter, while Marchiando notched 205.95 points in the same category. Herman, an Eau Claire native, and Greenwalt, a freshman, also set their new PRs in the 1-meter. Herman totaled 205.88 points, and Greenwalt racked up 262.46.
“This was a good opportunity to hone our skills in a competitive environment on our own boards without too much pressure,” said diving coach Tom Stover. “We had some excellent performances. I was also pleased with getting two of our divers back on the boards after being out with injuries.”
The swim and dive team will turn to their next competition, which comes after the new year. Northern Michigan will visit the Green and White on January 20 at the Peter F. Dorschel Natatorium.
