FORT WORTH, Texas – Former TCU swimmer and current Florida head swim coach, Gregg Troy, was inducted into the TCU Lettermen’s Hall of Fame on Thursday.
Since graduating from TCU in 1972, Troy went on to a build a prominent swimming career. Troy is a three-time NCAA Swimming Coach of the Year and a five-time SEC Swimming Coach of the Year. Two years prior to being named the 2012 U.S.A. Olympic Men’s Head Coach, Troy earned the award for United States Swimming Coach of the Year.
Troy has coached 91 Olympians, including Ryan Lochte, who won two gold medals, two silver medals, and a bronze medal at the 2012 Summer Olympics in London. Throughout his career, Troy has coached over 250 All-American swimmers that have attained more than 155 national records.
As a Horned Frog, Troy held school records in the 100 & 200 fly, 100 & 200 back, 200 IM and the 1000 free events. Gregg Troy, before the countless career highlights and honors, was a four-year letterman and captain of the TCU swim team.
