Women’s Release
Charlotte, NC – Florida Gulf Coast University senior Petra Halmai has been named the CCSA Women’s Swimmer of the Week for February 2nd, as announced by the league office Tuesday afternoon. Halmai swam to resounding victories in the 200 Fly and 400 IM against North Florida, completing her regular season undefeated in individual races at home with those wins on her Senior Day — as the only senior on the FGCU squad.
CCSA WOMEN’S SWIMMER OF THE WEEK:
Petra Halmai, Senior, Dombovar, Hungary (FGCU)
- Won a team-best two individual events during the recent win over UNF (171-104)
- During the meet against the Ospreys, the team celebrated senior day and honored Halmai (the only member of the senior class)
- Swam a 1:59.93 to win the 200 Fly, besting second place by nearly six seconds

- Her time was less than a second away from an NCAA B Cut
- Still leads the conference for this season in that event, having swam a 1:59.67 at the FGCU Invitational (Nov. 2020)
- Touched the wall first in the 400 IM with a time of 4:17.94

- Three seconds off the program record
- Second in the conference this season
- Less than a second away from an NCAA B Cut
- Completed her regular season undefeated in individual races at home

Men’s Release
Charlotte, NC– This week’s CCSA Men’s Swimmer of the Week award will be shared by co-winners junior Tim Bennett of Gardner-Webb University and senior Ty Grubb of Bellarmine University, as announced by the league office Tuesday afternoon. Bennett got the nod for his strong performance in two events against Georgia Tech, while Grubb earned his share for top-three finishes in all four of his events against the University of Evansville this week.

- 1st place 100 Back against Georgia Tech (50.70)
- 2nd place 200 Free Relay (20.98 split)

Swam 4 events this past weekend against University of Evansville:
- 400 Medley relay breaststroke split 56.79 – 2nd place
- 100 breaststroke 56.85 – 1st place
- 50 free – 23.16 – 3rd place
- 200 breaststroke – 2.07.39 – 1st place
Ty Grubb is a senior/nursing major with a minor in nutrition, and is a dean’s list student
