Cassandra Pasadyn of Hinckley, Ohio and Ingrid Wall of Kenilworth, Illinois have verbally committed to the application process at Harvard University*.
Cassandra Pasadyn
“I always knew I wanted to swim competitively in college, and Harvard provided the perfect academic and athletic fit for me. I felt an immediate connection with the team on my recruit trip, and knew I wanted to spend the next four years in this environment.”
Pasadyn, a senior at Brunswick High School, specializes in sprint back and fly. She was runner-up in the 100 back (54.60) at the 2016 Ohio Division I State Meet and placed 10th in the 100 fly (55.98). She also led off Brunswick’s medley relay in 25.59.
At only 16 years old, Pasadyn is one of the youngest swimmers in the class – she skipped a grade in elementary school.
Pasadyn swims year-round with SwimStrongsville. This past season she competed at NCSA Spring Swimming Championships and finaled in three events (50 fly, 50 back, 100 back); she also competed at Speedo Junior Nationals in August. Her best times include:
SCY | LCM | |
50 back | 25.59 | 30.92 |
100 back | 54.60 | 1:06.01 |
50 fly | 25.36 | 28.97 |
100 fly | 55.98 | 1:06.36 |
Ingrid Wall
Wall attends New Trier High School and swims for New Trier Swim Club. A true sprinter (i.e., the shorter the race the better she is), she qualified for 2016 U.S. Olympic Trials in the 50 free, where she finished 99th. She also swam at 2016 Speedo Summer Juniors, competing in the 100 free, 100 breast, and 100 fly. At NCSA Spring Championships she was a finalist in the 50/100 free, 50 back, 50/100 breast, and 50 fly. Her best times are:
SCY | LCM | |
50 free | 22.96 | 26.04 |
50 back | 25.64 | 29.88 |
100 back | 55.47 | 1:03.60 |
50 breast | 28.01 | 32.01 |
100 breast | 1:01.20 | 1:11.67 |
50 fly | 24.89 | 27.72 |
100 fly | 55.04 | 1:03.42 |
200 IM | 2:01.38 | 2:22.20 |
Pasadyn would have contributed points in the 100 back (A final) and 100 fly (C final) at 2016 Ivy League Championships, while Wall would have made A finals in the 50 free, 100 back, 100 breast, and B finals in the 100 fly and 200 IM.
