Harvard Men Announce 2016/17 Schedule

Kevin Tyrrell, The Ulen-Brooks Endowed Head Coach for Harvard Men’s Swimming and Diving, has announced the 2016-17 for his squad.

The season begins with an Ivy League tri-meet clash in Hanover, New Hampshire against Dartmouth and Cornell Friday, Nov. 11. Blodgett Pool is slated to host its only regular season meet of the year a week later when the Crimson square off against Columbia Nov. 18 in a dual meet that can be seen live on the Ivy League Digital Network.

The swimming and diving squads split up for their final competitions of the fall semester with the swimmers heading to Austin, Texas for the Texas Invitational, while the divers travel to Athens, Georgia for the Georgia Diving Invitational. Both meets are slated for Nov. 30 – Dec. 3.

The first events of the 2017 calendar year see Harvard competing out west. The teams will remain split with the divers launching from the boards at Utah Jan. 3 and Denver Jan. 4, while the swimmers head to their lanes at BYU Jan. 6 and the take on Utah and Denver in Salt Lake City Jan. 7.

The Crimson return to Ivy League action Jan. 13-14 in Philadelphia, taking on Penn and Brown. Regular season competition wraps up Jan. 28-29 in New Haven, Connecticut with the H-Y-P meet.

Blodgett Pool welcomes the entire conference Feb. 22-25, serving as the host venue for the 2017 Ivy League Championship Meet.

The NCAA Zone Diving Championships are scheduled for March 6-8 in Blacksburg, Virginia, before Indianapolis hosts the NCAA Championships March 23-25.

Harvard is coming off a 9-1 campaign in 2015-16 and a runner-up showing at the Ivy League Championship Meet. Tyrrell enters his fourth season at the helm of the Crimson with a 20-1 dual record, one Ivy League title and two second-place finishes at the conference championship event.
