2020 MINNESOTA BOYS’ CLASS AA STATE CHAMPIONSHIPS

The Edina boys won the Minnesota Boys’ Class AA State Championships by over 100 points, earning back-to-back state titles. Though they didn’t win any events, they used their team depth to take the team victory. Edina earned bronze in the 200 medley relay (1:33.70), silver in the 200 free relay (1:25.06), and silver in the 400 free relay (3:04.92). Senior Charlie Webb was an individual medalist with his silver in the 200 free (1:39.86) and placed 4th in the 100 free (46.06). Junior Charlie Klukow earned bronze in the 500 free (4:34.67) and won the B final in the 200 IM (1:53.52).
St. Louis Park’s Hayden Zheng put up his fastest swims in the morning heats as he won a pair of events. He swam a 1:47.75 in prelims of the 200 IM, but went on to post a 1:48.04 to win the final. Zheng also repeated as 100 breast champion, posting a 54.34 in the heats and winning the final in 54.52.
Eagan’s Jackson Kehler and Eden Prairie’s Soren Dunn were also multi-event winners. Kehler won the 200 free (1:38.89) and 500 free (4:33.49). Dunn swept the sprints, clocking a 20.67 in the 50 free and a 45.10 in the 100 free.
