Herasimenia wins three events at Turkey International

Belarus’s Aliaksandra Herasimenia, silver medallist in the 50 and 100 freestyle in London, won the 50 and 100 freestyle as well as the 50 backstroke at the Turkey International Team Selection Meet.

Herasimenia won the 50 freestyle in a time of 24.85 (a FINA A-standard) and the 100 freestyle in a time of 55.11 (a FINA B-standard, which for a Belarusian is about as good as an A standard). In the 50 backstroke she posted a time of 28.28, which is a FINA A standard.

Herasimenia’s 50 backstroke was the only FINA A standard recorded at the meet.

The following Turkish athlete’s posted FINA B standards in qualifying events:

Men:

Doga Celik – 50 freestyle (22.97), 100 freestyle (49.71) and 200 freestyle (1:50.44)

Nezir Karap – 200 freestyle (1:51.16) and 400 freestyle (3:57.06)

Furkan Marasli – 200 freestyle (1:51.66)

Demir Atasoy – 100 breaststroke (1:02.83)

Timur Dellaloglu – 400 IM (4:27.58)

Women:

Burcu Dolunay – 50 freestyle (25.94) and 100 freestyle (56.11)

Aksana Dziamidava – 50 freestyle (25.26)

Hazal Sarikaya – 100 backstroke (1:03.48)

Dilara Buse Gunaydin – 100 breaststroke (1:09.76)

Iris Rosenberger – 100 butterfly (1:00.88)

Gizem Bozkurt – 200 IM (2:19.43)

The following Serbian men posted FINA B standards in qualifying events:

Caba Siladji – 100 breaststroke (1:01.96)

Ivan Lendjer – 100 butterfly (54.30)

Elmira Aigaliyeva of Kazakhstan recorded a FINA B standards in the 100 freestyle (55.97) and 100 butterfly (59.40).

Along with Herasimenia Yauhen Tsurkin of Belarus posted a FINA B time in the 50 freestyle (23.11).

Aksana Dziamidava is actually also from Belarus. Neither Siladji or Lendjer are Turkish either, unless they have ‘bought’ them as they do in so many other sports.
