High Dive Speeds At FINA Worlds 50 mph – Complete Footage of Winners

Traditional platform and springboard diving events simply weren’t enough for FINA, so they added high diving…and for that we thank them!  High Diving debuts at the 2013 FINA World Championships with a lot of media interest and fanfare. Women leap from 20 meters and men from 27 meters above the water. They reach speeds of up to 50 mph upon impacting the HOH. If you’re a swimmer who has played around jumping from the 10 meter platform, you understand the rush of air, how gravity yanks you down mercilessly, how hitting the water wrong can feel like slamming into concrete. This event is not for the faint of heart!

Complete high diving footage of winners is courtesy of swimswam partner Universal Sports Network.
