Hoosier Women Pull in 5th Verbal Commit: PA Freestyler Morgan Scott

Pennridge High School rising senior Morgan Scott has added her name to the list of verbal commitments to Indiana University’s class of 2022. Scott hails from Perkasie, Pennsylvania, and is a USA Swimming All-American who specializes in the shorter end of the freestyle range.

Scott is a 5-time Pennsylvania high school champion. At the 2017 PIAA AAA Swimming and Diving Championships, she won the 200 free (1:46.77) and the 100 free (49.43) individually, and swam legs on Pennridge’s 200 free relay (22.53) and 400 free relay (49.00). The previous year, as a sophomore, she won the 200 free (1:48.87) and anchored the state-champion 4×50 free (22.27) and 4×100 free (53.03) relays. She also place second in the 100 free (49.65). In 2015 as a freshman, Scott was runner-up in both the 200 free (1:48.26) and the 100 free (49.86).

Scott does her club swimming with Central Bucks Swim Team. Last summer she went best times in everything she swam at 2016 Summer Juniors: she was runner-up in the 100m free (56.08), seventh in the 200m free (2:01.67), 10th in the 50m free (26.34), 39th in the 100m back (1:04.99), and 43rd in the 100m fly (1:03.47).

This spring she updated the PBs of all her top SCY events:

  • 50 free – 22.85
  • 100 free – 49.43
  • 200 free – 1:46.77
  • 100 back – 53.94
  • 200 back – 1:59.71
  • 100 fly – 54.45

Scott will suit up for the Hoosiers in the fall of 2018 with fellow verbal commits Christin Rockway, Ileah Doctor, Julia Wolf, and Noelle Peplowski.
