After a long process of recruitment, filled with visits all over the Midwest, Franklin Community High School senior and Franklin Regional Swim Team (FRST) member, Adam Destrampe, is ready to announce his commitment to Indiana University, class of 2019.
“I felt the most at comfortable at IU with the team and the surrounding campus,” Destrampe said. “I love the campus, the trees, and the limestone buildings. Also, academically, on two of my visits I was able to meet with some of IU’s physics professors, and I was very impressed with their academic program.”
It has become evident looking at Indiana’s recruiting classes over the last few years that Ray Looze and his staff have made an increased effort to recruit the local talent. Destrampe is the most recent in-state commitment for the Hoosiers, and he will be joining a number of other in-state recruits that have also committed. Adam told us that he is excited about Indiana’s nutrition tables. With an improved diet, he has the potential to develop into a consistent contributor for the team.

Although Destrampe admits he has lofty goals, he is looking forward to going to practice and racing his friends everyday. He currently swims for Franklin Community High School and the Franklin Regional Swim Team under the direction of head coach, Zach DeWitt.
“Adam has an exemplary stroke coupled with an elite work ethic,” DeWitt said. “He’s a very coachable athlete that can greatly benefit from swimming with those faster than he. He’s always been the big fish in our pond due to the youth of our program, and it will be great to see him broaden his horizons at IU.”
