Littleton, Colorado’s Kylie Andrews has verbally committed to swim for the University of Houston beginning in the fall of 2018. She will join Haley Benjamin in the class of 2022.
“Very excited to announce my verbal commitment to the University of Houston with the celebration of rowdy!! Go Coogs? #houstonwehaveaswimmer”
Andrews swims for Heritage High School and Foothills Swim Team. She won both the 100 free (50.59) and 100 back (55.67) at the 2017 CHSAA Girls 4A State Championships last February. She also swam butterfly on the 3rd-place medley relay and anchored the runner-up 400 free relay. As a sophomore she won the 100 free (50.91) and came in 4th in the 100 back (56.02) at the 2016 5A State Meet.
Andrews concluded her short course season with a bang, representing Foothills Swim Team at the Four Corners Sectional Meet in Lewisville, Texas last March. She clocked PBs in the 50/100/200 free, 50/100/200 back, and 100 fly. She won the 100 free and 200 free, was runner-up in the 50 free and 100 fly, and placed 3rd in the 200 back, and 6th in the 100 back.
Andrews will add firepower to the Cougars’ lineup next fall. In addition to the strength she will bring to all the relays, her times would already score in the A final of the 50/100/200 free, 100/200 back, and 100 fly at 2017 AAC Championships.
