Houston Swim Club’s Farzad Sarkari Verbally Commits to Oberlin

Farzad Sarkari of Sugar Land, Texas, has announced that he has “committed to Oberlin College of Arts & Science, for the class of 2021.” Sarkari is a senior at John Foster Dulles High School, and he swims year-round with Houston Swim Club. Sarkari has had an excellent senior year, improving in his main events, but also in a host of complementary events (50/100 free, 200 back, 100/200 breast, and 200/400 IM).

His top SCY times are:

  • 200 Free: 1:47.37
  • 500 Free: 4:50.20
  • 1000 Free: 10:17.94

With the graduation this spring of Oberlin’s most successful distance swimmer, senior Jeremy Cooper, Sarkari will have the opportunity to step up immediately and contribute in the mid-distance and distance freestyle events as soon as he first suits up as a Yeoman.

Sarkari will join another product of Sugar Land on the Oberlin roster: rising sophomore and school record-holder, Michael Lin. Lin came to Oberlin from First Colony Swim Team, with whom Sarkari swam before joining Houston Swim Club.

If you have a commitment to report, please send an email with a photo (landscape, or horizontal, looks best) and a quote to [email protected]
