On the red carpet, we asked all of your favorite swimmers about what they were wearing. We also asked how long it took each of them to get ready before the event. It appeared that whether you were a sprinter or distance swimmer had little to no bearing on whether you were ready to walk out the door in 10 minutes or 2 hours.

Tentative schedule for tonight:

8:30pm – Silent Auction ends
8:40pm – remainder of the program, including the rest of the award presentations
After an introduction by host John O’Hurley, the evening got underway with the presentation of the 2018 Pan Pacs team. The staff and athletes walked in a number of unique ways, ranging from the men’s coaching staff dabbing to a few semi-nervous waves to bows…and some flossing.
Obviously it must have taken quite long for folks like Adrian, Dressel, Dwyer, M. Franklin, Grevers, Schmitt to get ready, since they were no-shows, guess they are still getting ready.
Yeah, what was the deal with the numerous Team Speedo no-shows, Dressel, Dwyer, Adrian, Franklin, etc? Are they ticked at Speedo, or just embarrassed by poor performances? Kinda sad also that three of the four Pan Pacs team captains (Schmitt, Grevers, Adrian) did not attend, not a great message to send to teammates who voted for you. Poor form by Dressel going awol too, given he was Male Athlete of Year last year and his “lifelong friend” Murphy was feted this year. Even USA Swim Foundation paid “ambassadors” Nathan and Missy nowhere to be found–nice work if you can get it.
Dressel was actually in a Speedo event with Beisel, Jones, Baker, Meili, Flickinger, Cordes and Murphy in NYC a day or two before Golden Goggles. Wonder why he did not just stay on.
