Illinois Swim and Dive Adds Recruit Paloma Canos Cervera for 2021-22 Season

CHAMPAIGN, Ill. – Illinois swimming and diving head coach Sue Novitsky has announced the addition of Paloma Canos Cervera to her 2021-22 recruiting class. She joins Paige Bakker, Logan Kuehne, Sydney Stoll, Jane Umhofer and Molly Yetter, who all signed and were announced previously for the Fighting Illini.

Canos Cervera is a Spanish swimmer based in Singapore who studies at Nexus International School. She is a freestyle and butterfly specialist and represented her native country Spain at the Junior European Swimming Championship in Helsinki, Finland in 2018. She is a multi-champion in the 100 fly, 200 fly, and 200 free events in Italy, Spain, and Singapore.

“We are excited to add Paloma to our 2021-22 class,” said Novitsky. “She is a talented student-athlete and will be a terrific representative for the University of Illinois.”
