CHAMPAIGN, Ill. – The Illinois swim and dive team announced its schedule for the upcoming 2023-24 season. The Fighting Illini will host three home meets this year in the ARC Pool while also traveling to West Lafayette, Ind., three times.
The 2023-24 swim and dive season starts with Orange vs. Blue meet on Oct. 7. The team’s regular-season starts on Oct. 14 with a trip to Lawrence, Kan., to face the Kansas Jayhawks. Next, the Illini travel to sunny California to take on Pepperdine on Oct. 26. The Illini then have a triangular meet against UCSB and head coach Jeana Kempe‘s alma mater, UCLA, on Oct. 27.
The first of three home meets is on Nov. 4 against Vanderbilt. Two weeks later, Illinois prepares for its mid-season tournament, the Boilermaker Invite, on Nov. 16-18. One meet looms on the schedule in December, the Auburn Diving Invite, on Dec. 17-20.
The Illini begin the 2024 calendar year at the ARC Pool for their first Big Ten dual on Jan. 12, when they face Iowa. The next day, Jan. 13, Illinois will head back to West Lafayette for a triangular meet against Purdue and Missouri.
They close out the month with the final home meet of the year, Jan. 27, against Nebraska. The last regular-season meet is the Louisville First Chance meet on Feb. 15-16.
Postseason meets begin with the Big Ten Championships on Feb. 21-24 in West Lafayette. The CSCAA NIC Championships and NCAA Diving Zones are both on March 14-16. Finally, the Illini will close out their season at the NCAA Championships on March 20-23 in Athens, Ga.
