IM Specialist Brandon Beagle Commits to Adams State

Fitter and Faster Swim Camps is the proud sponsor of SwimSwam’s College Recruiting Channel and all commitment news. For many, swimming in college is a lifelong dream that is pursued with dedication and determination. Fitter and Faster is proud to honor these athletes and those who supported them on their journey.

Brandon Talon Beagle from Liberty, Missouri has announced his commitment to continue his academic and athletic careers at Division II Adams State University beginning in the 2022-2023 school year.

“I am excited to announce that I have verbally committed to swim for Adams State! This represents an incredible opportunity to fulfill a lifelong goal to compete at the collegiate level.”

Beagle swims for Tsunami Swim Team of KC out of Liberty, MO. Over the summer, he earned numerous long course best times at the Missouri Valley LSC Championships. Those times included the 100 breaststroke (1:17.75) and 400 IM (5:26.35).

He is in his senior year at class 6 Liberty North High School. In October 2020, he earned best times in the 100 breaststroke (1:06.67) and 200 IM (2:09.65) at Gold Conferences.

His best short course yards times are:

  • 200 IM: 2:09.65
  • 400 IM: 4:36.24
  • 100 breaststroke: 1:06.67
  • 200 breaststroke: 2:23.52

Adams State University is public university located in Alamosa, Colorado. The team is a member of the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference. The school recently announced in mid-December that they would be under new head coach Melinda Hunzeker after the previous head coach Eddie Ortiz resigned earlier in the season.

The team finished fourth out of five teams at the 2021 Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Championships. The team was led by current junior Gilbert Beton who scored 38 points.

His best times would earn him a spot in the ‘B’ final of the 400 IM and 100 and 200 breaststrokes. It took a time of 2:01.74 in the 200 IM to make the ‘B’ final. Beagle has the potential to boost the 400 IM as only one member of the team competed in the event at the conference championships.

Beagle will arrive on campus in fall 2022 as a member of the class of 2026. The team is a very young team this year as there are no seniors on the roster and only one junior. Six out of the 11 members of the team are freshmen so the team will continue to be young next year as well.

I responded to say the same. I wanted to know if this was on Denali?

When I was in college , I sometimes wished that I swam at a small school with a small squad. Pick your own events, way less peer pressure to practice when sick or show up to morning practice when you have an 8 am lecture, probably win multiple events in big meets, be on all the “A” relays and chase down the other team if they had a lead, etc. I hope this kid has a ball.
