In-Person ASCA World Clinic Is On For Sept. 14-18 In Orlando

The American Swimming Coaches Association is excited to announce the 2021 World Clinic–the premiere convention and trade show for the swimming community–will be held live and in-person September 14-18 at the Rosen Centre in Orlando, Florida.

A must-see Tokyo Olympic and Paralympic Games Recap featuring Rowdy Gaines, Nathan Manley and Gregg Troy (and others to be announced) will headline the opening session on Wednesday night.

This year’s ASCA World Clinic will debut an exciting new format with “pool sessions” where coaches and athletes will present live demonstrations at the Rosen Center pool, and interactive workshops with a focus on diversity and equity discussions. Also, a “New Coach Orientation” will provide those new to the profession with everything they need to know…but were afraid to ask!

The always popular exhibit hall is already filling up and will be packed full of dozens of companies offering their products, services and lots of giveaways.

These sessions include topics such as sprint/distance training, technique/ biomechanics, new and innovative equipment, and more. Only now, you’ll be watching the demonstrations LIVE in the pool. 

Diversity, Equity and Inclusion – ASCA is committed to increasing the diversity of our sport. Learn what clubs around the country are doing to make their programs more inclusive and equitable. Learn how to integrate para-swimming into your club program from experts leading this area.

Sprint Training- Learn sprint specific training routines from some of the greatest coaches in the world, including dryland/strength training, specific sets that WORK, and more!

Business of Swimming- Learn how to turn your passion into a career in this track discussing building your club, running a lessons program in your backyard, and everything in between.

Health & Wellness in the Coaching Profession- The health and wellness of coaches has long been overlooked. COVID has brought a plethora of new challenges. Learn techniques and strategies to fill your cup, so that you can pour it into everyone else’s.

Technique/ Biomechanics- Participate in discussions and demonstrations on effectively teaching the fundamentals of swimming, the variations of technique of elite athletes, and more.

LeadHERship: Back by popular demand, the second year of the ASCA LeadHERship Academy will be offered! Here’s one of the raves from last year: “Unquestionably, it was the most outstanding short-term professional development workshop I have ever participated in, and I have attended and provided many of these as an educator.”

Mental Health First Aid: Samantha Arsenault Livingstone and Katie Kilty will conduct a training and certification program that teaches participants how to identify, understand, and respond to signs of mental illness and substance abuse disorders in youth and emerging adults. This 6.5-hour training includes a 2-hour, self-paced online class, followed by a 4–5-hour instructor-led in-person experiential training. The certification issued from the National Council for Behavioral Health is valid for three (3) years.
