Indian River Picks Up Verbal From Treasure Coast Captain Tucker Adams

Indian River State College will add a another new member to its roster next season, as they’ve just received an in-state verbal commitment from Port St. Lucie native Tucker Adams.

Adams has been swimming club with the River Rats Swim Team for nearly a decade, and will make the move to Indian River after graduating from Treasure Coast High School, where he’s been recognized for his academic achievements in each of the last 4 years.

Adams is primarily a fly/IMer, but he also extends his schedule to the middle distance free races. Last season, he was a finalist at the Florida High School 4A State Championships, where he led Treasure Coast as a team captain. There, he was the 5th place finisher in the 100 fly.

Adams’ Top times:

  • 100 Fly – 50.83
  • 200 Fly – 1:53.04
  • 200 IM – 1:56.12
  • 400 IM – 4:15.26
  • 200 Free – 1:44.38

Adams should have an immediate scoring impact for IRSC at the NJCAA National Championships. With his current best times, he would’ve been fast enough to place in the top 5 of at least 3 events at last season’s NJCAA meet. His highest finish would’ve been in the 100 fly, where his best time would’ve placed 3rd. He also would’ve been 4th in the 200 fly and 5th in the 200 IM.
