Indiana Men Get 1st Verbal to Class of 2023 from Backstroker Jake Marcum

Jake Marcum of McCallie / GPS Aquatics in Chattanooga, Tennessee has announced his verbal commitment to Indiana University in the class of 2023.

A USA Swimming Scholastic All-American, Marcum attends McCallie School where he swims under coach Stan Corcoran. The 6’4″ junior recently placed second in the 100 back (49.79) and fourth in the 200 free (1:41.15) at the 2018 TISCA TN HS Championship. He also led off the third-place 200 medley relay in 23.57 and anchored the runner-up 400 free relay in 45.66.

Marcum swims for head coach Roger Dahlke at McCallie / GPS Aquatics. He is coming off a good run at 2018 NCSA Spring Championship, having improved his PBs in the 100 free and 50/100/200 back. He finished 10th in the 200 back, 14th in the 100 back, and 40th in the 50 back, and also competed in the 50/100/200 free. Marcum was a B-finalist in the 200 back Summer Juniors and a C-finalist at Winter Juniors East.
