Indiana State Adds Another Juniors Qualifer in Jacquie Price

Indiana State secured it’s third commitment in it’s first recruiting with Willamalane Swim Club’s Jacquie Price. Price is a Winter Juniors qualifier in the 100 fly, and her best time would have put her on the podium at last year’s Missouri Valley Conference championship. It looks like inaugural coach Mike Leach is putting together a team that will take it to their conference rivals right away. Price also boasts times that will score in freestyle:

  • 100 freestyle: 52.95
  • 200 freestyle: 1:54.33
  • 500 freestyle: 5:00.34
  • 100 butterfly: 56.07

Curiously, Price does not have any times the last two years in the 200 fly despite her prowess in the 100. However, she has been on a tear, with huge personal bests in every event for the 2014-15 season. She improved her 100 fly from 58.7 to 56.0, then went on to swim 1:02.9 and make her Winter Juniors time over the summer at the Oregon Long Course championship. Price was also 5th at the 2015 Oregon 6A High School State championship in the 100 fly for Thurston High School.

That improvement curve should put some fear into her Missouri Valley foes, as the winning time in the 100 fly last year was just 55.63. Price joins Cierra Campbell, another swimming poised to make an immediate impact on the conference level, and Mykenzie Kostka.

Nice Article!

Coach’s name should read as Matt Leach, instead of Mike Leach.
