Tony Carroll will be supporting the SwimSwam efforts at next week’s National Championships and World Championship Trials at his home natatorium. Today, he traveled around and took some shots of the preparations.
He reports that Omega will be at the facility today to finish installing the new blocks and the rest of the timing equipment, and that the pool is expected to be “race ready” by Sunday, with the meet set to start on Tuesday.

Sure hope that we have two swimmers able to make the FINA “A” time in the women and men’s 200 meter butterfly. USA is very weak in those events!
I can’t wait to watch this meet live! Cool time difference between Indianapolis and France (6 hours). For the moment it’s all about the USA track and field championships but I’m ready for Tuesday. The only serious chance of world record is the women’s 800 free with Katie Ledecky but I would be surprised. I believe she will keep her best for Barcelona. Anyway, world record or not, she will be the star of the week.
I wonder why they covered the other scoreboards with the black curtain? I would have thought they’d keep those scoreboards for results and run the board opposite of the pool for video? Hmmm. We’ll see on Monday.
There will be two boards. A video board at the south end of the pool and an Omega scoreboard at the north end.
