Irvine Novaquatics 13-14 boys LCM 200 free relay set a new national age group (NAG) record this past weekend swimming to a 1:39.22. That broke the old record of a 1:39.56 set by Washington Township Swim Club of Indiana back in 2014.

Novaquatics relay was consistent on the day as no one split above the 25-second mark which was the difference maker here. Notably, the previous record included now two-time US Olympian Drew Kibler as Kibler split a 24.23 anchor leg in 2014. No one was faster for Novaquatics this past weekend but Michael Wang was close with a 24.30 anchor.

The same four boys for Novaquatics also set a new Southern California Swimming (SCS) record in the 13-14 200 medley relay. They touched in a 1:50.71.

The girls side of the meet was highlighted by an SCS record from Beach Cities Swimming. The 13-14 relay of Gabi Brito, Meagan Gordon, Eryn Arnold, and Kayla Sun swam to a final time of a 4:19.66. Brito led off in a best time of a 1:02.65 which is #41 in the age group all-time. The relay smashed the old SCS record of a 4:25.45 set by Novaquatics in 2010.
