Cal junior Jack Alexy took a strong win in the men’s 100 free last night in Knoxville, clocking 48.2 in both the prelims and finals. Alexy and the Cal men came to Knoxville right from Colorado Springs where they had their annual training trip at the Olympic Training Center. Alexy analyzes the camp and describes a 400 free relay time trial from what he says is one of the nest sprint cores in the world.
I could not figure out who he reminded me of until this video, it was killing me.
My mans looks like Benny Safdie

He bears a strong resemblance to this guy.
Can’t wait for Marsh to work his dark magic and conjure up 4 years of Brooks Curry eligibility just in time for NCAAs
That’d be sick
Was that relay LCM or SCY?
Assuming LCM. Remembering my days at Cal, OTC training was basically all LCM, though we did do some SCY.
Well I guess we’ll never know how fast that relay can be. Seeliger isn’t American so they’ll never compete internationally, and Curry isn’t on the college team so we’ll never see it in the NCAA. Unless…
Maybe Brooks needs to enroll for the spring semester…..
Surely there was a staff person there who could be convinced to spill the beans
Why not give rough splits or a rough overall time! Keep the mystery?! Boring. Don’t bring it up if you don’t want to elaborate.
Braden mentions how swimming needs to become more popularised and fan focused a lot (at least that’s my take). “Anecdotes” like this are part of the problem. What is there to hide? People would make a fair guess that is was somewhere between 3:18-3:21.
Closer to 3:16…
Spicy…
Maybe because these swimmers realize it is January and don’t want to give away too much information to the rest of the world about what they’ve been working on. That goes for international competition and also NCAA competition…….
Yes swimming needs to become more popularized, but the training and process of the athletes remains top priority for themselves and their coaches in order for them to be at their peak at the end of the season.
Probably 48.5 avg or so
