The Miami University Redhawks have announced Jaime Keily as their new assistant coach; she comes to the program after 8 months as a volunteer assistant at Ohio State.
This is Keily’s first full-time collegiate coaching job since graduating from Penn State, where she was a part of the 2006 Big Ten Championship Team.
“I am so excited about joining the Miami family, and it’s an honor to work with such a great athletic department that has strong academic and athletic traditions,” said Keily. “I’m looking forward to working with Mark and the team to continue their successes in and out of the pool.”
Keily also spent two years as a graduate assistant with the women at Illinois State, where she earned her Masters’ Degree in 2012.
With the Buckeyes, Keily’s roles included assistant with team workouts, at meets, and maintaining the recruiting database.
Keily was predominantly a distance freestyler in her swimming career, which is a weak area for Miami. At last year’s Mid-American Conference Championships, where the Redhawks won by over 100 points, the program didn’t have anybody finish on the podium in either the 500 or 1650 freestyles. Among those returning is juniors Courtney Collett, who was 6th at the MAC Championships (season-best 16:56.20) and 4th in the 500 (4:50.39).
