Energy Standard GM James Gibson breaks down his team’s performance after Match 1, where they narrowly pulled out a win over the Toronto Titans. Gibson praised his captains and rookies such as Evgeniia Chikunova, but kept things honest by admitting a number of his athletes were not where he expected them to be.

Every team will have athletes in this situation post Olympics during a pandemic. ISL coaches need to assess what they see in training and communicate with athletes in order to make the best event and relay selections. Instead of publicly blaming athletes, congratulate your competitor who got very close to a huge upset.
