On day 5 of the 2016 South African National Championships, Olympic, and Paralympic Trials, momentum returned with a new qualifier. Jarred Crous, swimming in the 200 breaststroke, chased Cameron van der Burgh under the 200 breaststroke standard to book a trip to Rio.
That makes the tally 7 men and 0 women, though even the ladies inched closer to qualifying in the 200 breaststroke semi-final, as Tatjana Schoenmaker sits just half-a-second from the Olympics.
