Jennifer Marrkand from Patriot Swim Club Verbally Commits to Virginia

Jennifer Marrkand of the Patriot Swim Club in Acton, Massachusetts, has verbally committed to the Virginia Cavaliers, according to her club team’s official website.

She’s a classic butterfly/backstroker, and is about equally as good in both of those events.

Her best times:

  • 100 yard back – 55.20
  • 100 yard fly – 54.61
  • 200 yard back – 1:59.08
  • 200 yard fly – 1:59.61

She’s also a solid IM’er with bests of 2:02.22/4:21.18, though her breaststroke legs hurt her a little bit in those races. She was, however, the Massachusetts State High School Champion in 2013 in both that 200 IM and the 100 yard back, and a slam-dunk as swimmer of that meet (her team competes at the Winter championships: the bigger of the two).
