Jeremy Stravius Withdraws From Barcelona Due To Injury

French star and 2011 100 backstroke World Champion Jeremy Stravius has pulled out of the latest stop of the Mare Nostrum series in Barcelona due to an injury.

It was reported today in the French magazine L’Equipe that Stravius, who won the 50 backstroke in Canet-en-Roussillon, will not swim this weekend in Barcelona due an injury that he has been dealing with for the last two weeks. He has been experiencing pain in his upper back near the left shoulder blade, “I swam 500m and I’m out,” said Stravius, who was set to compete in both the 50 and 100 backstroke. “I already have an appointment with the physiotherapist and osteotherapist on Monday and Tuesday.”

With Camille Lacourt having to pull out of the Mare Nostrum series before Canet with a hip injury that now sidelines country’s top two backstrokers.

Yes. Our backstrokers are in trouble. 🙁
I knew there was something weird 2 days ago when.Stravius swam 57 in the 100 back prelims.
Hopefully he will be ok for Berlin but nothing is sure.
