The Alabama 1A-5A Championships finals featured several double event champions. That included Cole Jernigan, who helped the TR Miller boys to a team title. Jernigan swept the sprint freestyles, posting a 22.18 in the 50 free and a 49.55 in the 100 free.

Briarwood Christian’s Mason Mathias swept the middle distance freestyles. Mathias got started with a 1:41.26 in the 200 free before going on to win the 500 free in 4:36.34. Andrew Fouty earned his double in the 100 fly (51.56) and 100 back (53.00). Aden Kraft was the 4th man to secure a double with a 2:00.89 in the 200 IM and a 1:00.44 in the 100 breast.

Lucy O’Neill nabbed 2 wins for the St. Michael Catholic girls. She blew away the field with a 1:50.53 in the 200 free and won the 100 fly in 55.27. Bayside’s Elizabeth Chen was the only other girl to win 2 individual races, posting a 2:09.66 in the 200 IM and a 57.84 in the 100 back.
