JMU’s Alexa Holloway Tabbed As CAA Rookie Diver of the Month

RICHMOND, Va. – James Madison diver Alexa Holloway turned in an impressive start to the new year and has been tabbed Colonial Athletic Association Rookie Diver of the Month for January/February, the league announced Tuesday afternoon.

This is Holloway’s second monthly award, after earning the honor for October. A JMU diver has been tabbed for all three Rookie Diver of the Month honors, with Abi White earning the honor for November.

Holloway began the month of January with a score of 262.50 in the 1-meter against Towson to take fourth before placing third at Richmond with a score of 256.20. She also placed third in the 3-meter at Richmond with a score of 274.80.

At the season-ending Duke Dog Diving Invite, she qualified for the NCAA Zone Championships in the 3-meter for the first time with a team and season-best score of 312.20. She then scored a 284.35 in the finals to take second place.

Holloway joins the rest of the swimming & diving team as the Dukes prepare for the Eastern College Athletic Conference Championships in Annapolis, Md. on Friday-Sunday, Feb. 25-27.
