CAQ Associate Head Coach
Charger Aquatics is seeking an experienced, dynamic and positive individual for the position of Associate Head Coach. This position is responsible for serving as Lead Coach for the Senior Regional and Age Group Regional practice groups, as well as performing administrative duties. The Associate Head Coach will also serve as the Meet Director/Coordinator for all CAQ-hosted Events, as well as Coordinator for the CAQ Strength & Conditioning Program. The Associate Head Coach will work in partnership with the Head Coach on all aspects of the Charger Aquatics Program.
This position includes a full benefits package and compensation is competitive within the national market for coaches at Bronze, Silver and Gold medal clubs. CAQ will consider individual past coaching performance and potential to generate a competitive offer for the selected candidate.

Essential Functions
- Act as the Primary Coach for the Senior Regional and Age Group Regional practice groups.
- Establish a positive practice environment, while teaching self-discipline, dedication and responsibility.
- Develop and maintain seasonal and quadrennial training plans.
- Design and implement a framework for swimmer development through the Senior Program and/or Age Group Program.
- Attend all swim meets according to Competition Schedule set by CAQ Head Coach
- Assist/Substitute with other practice groups as needed.
- Communicate effectively with athletes, parents, and volunteers.
- Perform website updates as needed.
- Complete meet entries and coordinate entry to all CAQ-attended events.
- Support club operations as needed.
- Attend all Staff Meetings.
- Assist Head Coach with Coaching Staff Education and Performance Review.
- Organize all CAQ-hosted Swim Meets.
- Update Meet information, create event files, and submit Sanctions for Meets.
- Coordinate volunteers and officials for CAQ meets.
- Work with vendors to promote and increase revenues for CAQ meets.
- Communicate with other teams regarding participation at CAQ meets.
- Coordinate Meet Bids for CAQ to host NMS Championship Meets.
- Submit Financial Reports following each event for CAQ and NMS.
- Serve as the coordinator for CAQ’s Strength Program, working with all Groups and Lead Coaches on implementation.
- Inventory and Maintain CAQ Dryland Equipment and Needs.
- Supervise Dryland implementation in all CAQ Practice Groups, working with Coaching Staff on best practices.
- Educate CAQ Families on the GAIN Program and its value.
- Support the School and its mission, always maintaining a high degree of professionalism.
- Foster and maintain a culture of mutual respect, equitable practice, and joy.
- Demonstrate cultural competence and communicate and collaborate effectively across differences.
Other Responsibilities
- Attend employee meetings as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Education
- A Bachelor’s degree is required.
Experience
- At minimum four years of experience in coaching, preferably in a Senior Program, is required.
- Previous Competitive Swimming experience is required.
- Prior experience managing an aquatics or similar athletic program is preferred.
- Prior experience in swim meet operations is preferred.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
- Excellent human relations skills.
- Effective verbal and written communications skills.
- Ability to learn quickly and understand new software applications.
- Strong knowledge of Google software (Sheets, Docs, Forms, etc).
- Knowledge of Hytek Meet Manager, and Team Manager software.
- Familiarity with TeamUnify website development software.
Special Requirements
- Current Coach Membership with USA Swimming is required.
- ASCA Level 3 is preferred, ASCA Membership is required.
- USA Swimming Administrative Official credentials are preferred.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
