Position Summary – Executive Director, Southeastern Aquatics:

The Executive Director of Southeastern Aquatics will be responsible for the overall management, direction, and growth of the organization’s programs and operations. This includes overseeing age group and senior swimming, masters swimming, swim lessons, and any other aquatic program revenue streams.  The Executive Director will be expected to further develop the role and responsibilities, creating a robust framework for the organization’s future. This position will be tasked with expanding the various aquatic streams of business, ensuring the organization’s mission, vision, and values are upheld while providing a high-quality experience for all members and fostering a positive, inclusive, and competitive environment. This role comes with a part time assistant, third party accountant, and will serve as a member of the Board of Directors. Additionally, the role comes with staff for a swim club, masters club, and lessons program.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

  1. Leadership and Management:
  • Provide strategic leadership and direction to all programs and staff.
  • Develop and implement short-term and long-term goals in alignment with the organization’s mission.
  • Supervise and mentor coaching staff, administrative staff, and volunteers.
  • Foster a positive, collaborative, and inclusive culture.
  • Define and expand the Executive Director role, creating a comprehensive leadership structure.
  1. Program Development and Management:
  • Oversee the development, implementation, marketing, and evaluation of all programs, including age group, senior, and masters swimming, swim lessons program, and lifeguard program.
  • Ensure all programs meet high standards of quality and safety.
  • Innovate and expand current programs to expand revenue opportunities while attracting new members and retaining existing ones.
  • Stay current with industry trends and best practices to continuously improve program offerings.
  1. Business Development:
  • Identify and develop new aquatic business revenue streams to enhance the organization’s offerings and financial stability.
  • Explore opportunities for partnerships, sponsorships, and new revenue streams.
  • Implement strategies to grow the organization’s membership and program participation.
  1. Financial Oversight:
  • Develop and manage the organization’s annual budget in collaboration with the Board of Directors and leaders of each revenue stream.
  • Ensure sound financial practices and maintain financial stability.
  • Identify and pursue non-primary financial opportunities, including sponsorships, grants, and partnerships.
  1. Communication and Public Relations:
  • Serve as the primary spokesperson for the organization, promoting its mission and programs to the community.
  • Maintain effective communication with members, parents, staff, and the Board of Directors.
  • Develop and implement marketing strategies to increase membership and participation in programs.
  1. Facility and Equipment Management:
  • Oversee the maintenance and improvement of the organization’s facilities and equipment.
  • Ensure facilities meet safety and health standards.
  • Manage the scheduling of the facility within the high school and community environment.
  • Serve as the Aquatics Coordinator for Hamilton Southeastern High School.
  • Oversee meet operations for Southeastern Swim Club and Southeastern Area Masters Swimming.
  1. Compliance and Risk Management:
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and policies.
  • Implement and oversee risk management strategies to ensure the safety of all participants.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Sports Management, Business Administration, or a related field, or a track record of successfully operating an aquatics organization.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in a leadership role within an aquatics organization.
  • Proven ability to develop and manage programs, budgets, and staff.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with diverse groups of people, including athletes, parents, staff, and community members.

Position Summary – Head Coach, Southeastern Swim Club:

Southeastern Swim Club (SSC) is seeking a dynamic and experienced Head Swim Coach to lead our USA Swimming club based in Fishers, IN. This individual will also be expected to apply for the position of Head Swim Coach at Hamilton Southeastern High School, integrating responsibilities to foster a unified and successful swimming program. This role comes with an extensive full time and part time set of coaches as well as one vacant full-time coaching position for this role to fill.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

  1. Leadership and Coaching:
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive training program for swimmers of all levels, focusing on technique, endurance, and competitive performance.
  • Provide leadership, mentorship, and coaching to athletes, fostering a positive and inclusive team environment.
  • Set and achieve short-term and long-term goals for both individual swimmers and the team as a whole, with a focus on growth and improvement.
  1. Team Development:
  • Strategically grow the swim club by recruiting and retaining talented swimmers.
  • Organize and conduct tryouts, practices, and swim meets.
  • Develop and maintain a strong feeder program to ensure continuous talent development and progression.
  1. Competition and Performance:
  • Lead the team to achieve athletic excellence at the state and national levels.
  • Develop and execute strategies to maximize team performance during competitions.
  • Monitor and analyze performance metrics to identify areas for improvement and adjust training programs accordingly.
  1. Relationship Building:
  • Cultivate strong relationships with swimmers, parents, coaching staff, and the broader community.
  • Collaborate with school administration, athletic directors, and other stakeholders to align club and high school swimming programs.
  • Serve as a positive role model, promoting sportsmanship, discipline, and a love for swimming.
  1. Administrative and Managerial Duties:
  • Oversee the scheduling and logistics of practices, meets, and team events.
  • Manage team budget, equipment, and facilities in collaboration with SSC and high school administration.
  • Ensure compliance with all USA Swimming, school, and state regulations and policies.
  • Supervise and develop assistant coaches and support staff.
  • Coordinate travel arrangements for out-of-town meets and training camps.
  • Maintain accurate records of athlete performance, attendance, and progress.
  • Develop and implement marketing and outreach initiatives to promote the swim club and attract new members.
  • Prepare and present regular reports to the club board, school administration, and parents on team progress and needs.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a successful swim coach, preferably at the swim club and high school levels with a minimum of 10 years coaching experience.
  • A leader in the field of competitive swimming, including USA Swimming regulations and standards.
  • In-depth knowledge of competitive swimming techniques, training methods, and strategies.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to inspire and motivate athletes to achieve their best.
  • USA Swimming Coach, CPR, and related certifications.
  • Commitment to fostering a positive, inclusive, and supportive team culture.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field is preferred.

Supervisory Responsibilities

Directly and indirectly supervises assigned staff. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with Southeastern Swim Club policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; developing and coaching employees; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
