About Us: Join our dynamic and passionate coaching team at the FISH in Northern Virginia, where we are dedicated to developing young athletes in and out of the pool. Our club fosters a supportive and motivating environment, encouraging swimmers to reach their full potential while promoting a love for the sport.

Job Description: We seek an experienced and enthusiastic Full-time Swim Coach to work with swimmers aged 14 and under. The ideal candidate will have at least four years of coaching experience, a strong passion for coaching, and a commitment to being an integral part of our coaching team.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement training programs tailored to the age group and skill level of swimmers aged 14 and under.
  • Provide hands-on coaching during practices, offering constructive feedback and technique improvement.
  • Plan and conduct weekly team practices, focusing on skill development, endurance, and race strategies.
  • Create a positive, inclusive, and motivating environment for all swimmers.
  • Attend swim meets and provide guidance and support to swimmers during competitions.
  • Collaborate with the coaching team to ensure consistency in training methods and club philosophy.
  • Maintain accurate records of swimmer’s attendance, performance, and progress.
  • Communicate effectively with swimmers, parents, and club management regarding swimmer development and program updates, including administrative tasks.
  • Stay current with coaching techniques, swimming trends, and best practices through professional development.

 

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of three years of coaching experience, preferably with swimmers aged 14 and Under.
  • Strong passion for coaching and a commitment to swimmer development.
  • Excellent knowledge of competitive swimming techniques, rules, and regulations.
  • Proven ability to motivate and inspire young athletes.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and contribute to a positive team culture.
  • Certification in Lifeguarding, CPR, First Aid, and USA Swimming Coach certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire).
  • A bachelor’s degree in Sports Science, Physical Education, or a related field is a plus, as is knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, TeamUnify, and Hytek Meet Manager.
