Graduate Assistant – Swim Coach

The Graduate Assistant Swimming Coach will serve as an assistant to the Swimming & Diving program in conjunction with completing required coursework for the respective graduate degree program. This position is governed by state and federal laws, and agency/institution policy.

Required Education and/or Experience:

  • Hold a Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution of higher education;

  • Regular admission to a UA Little Rock graduate degree program or good standing with the UA Little Rock Graduate School for continuing graduate students;

  • Ability to work the required hours (FT-50% – 20 hours per week/PT-25% – 10 hours per week) with regular attendance.

Job Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Assisting the head coach with planning and implementation of daily practices

  • Coordination of operations; Securing hotel contracts, transportation reservations, per diem, meals, planning travel itineraries, etc.

  • Attend Staff meetings, be prepared for, and contribute to weekly staff meetings;

  •  Recruiting – In collaboration with full-time coaching staff;

  •  Coaching – In collaboration with full-time coaching staff;

  •  Coordinating community service opportunities for the Swimming & Diving team;

  •  Meet management duties; manage equipment/apparel;

  •  Assist with NCAA compliance reporting and academic monitoring;

  •  Other duties assigned by Head Swimming & Diving Coach.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  •  Ability to work effectively with student-athletes;

  •  Effective communication skills.
