The Catholic University of America is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Graduate Assistant for Swimming and Diving. Catholic University is located in Washington, D.C. and competes in the Landmark Conference. The successful candidate will assist in coaching the swimming and diving program within the philosophy and guidelines set forth by Catholic University, the NCAA, and the Landmark Conference
Applicants must be accepted and enrolled in a Graduate Program at the Catholic University of America. Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited University as well as a valid driver’s license are required. Previous collegiate playing, coaching/managing, or recruiting experience at an NCAA institution is highly preferred. Applicants must be open to working a combination of mornings, nights, and weekends, with travel for competition and training expected throughout the year.
Duties include but are limited to:
- Practice and game preparation, including assisting with line-ups, creating practice plans, and running practice sessions (in the pool and in weight room).
- Coordination of team travel.
- Student-athlete academic counseling.
- Coordination of community service projects.
- Managing team social media.
- Assistant in recruiting student-athletes, including emails, phone calls, and on campus visits.
- Other duties assigned by the Head Coach and Athletic Department Senior Leadership.
This position provides a stipend and graduate tuition waiver each year (except for the Columbus School of Law and PhD programs). University fees are not included as part of the tuition waiver.
