Etown Dolphins located in Elizabethtown KY is looking for a dynamic Head Age Group coach to lead our age group program (14 and under) and our developmental learn to swim program. We are looking for an individual that is seeking to make a long-term commitment to Etown and their coaching career.

 

Head Age Group Coach responsibilities include but are not limited to:

— Oversight of & effectively leading our 14 and under AG program at ESFC and TK Stone in coordination with Head Coach.
— Development and direct oversight of a comprehensive and competitive Learn to Swim Program and its staff in coordination with Head Coach
— Oversight of a comprehensive age-group dryland program in coordination with our dry-land coach and Head Coach.
— Annual, seasonal, weekly and daily planning for practices, competitions, and events.
— Assist with swim meet and event planning with coverage as needed.
— Partner with age-group parents through frequent communication, educational parent meetings, and conducting age group evaluations for group placement as needed.
— Provide direct support to the head coach in all areas of the program and be aligned with the direction of the teams’ core values which include but is not limited to the teams’ mission, vision, and team philosophies; led by the head coach in partnership with the board of directors.
— Provide a safe and ethical team environment that cultivates a growth mindset, with an emphasis of fun, accountability and life-long learning through the sport of swimming within a holistic athlete development model. — — — Building a love and life-long passion for the sport of swimming.
— Establish and maintain positive working relationships with those in contact for work as a representative and ambassador of the Etown Dolphins.
— Analyzing situations of varying complexity and adopt effective courses of action in partnership with Head Coach and Etown Board of Directors.
— Provide instruction, feedback and evaluation to each program participant to ensure that the performing exercise and swimming strokes are in a manner that is safe and developmentally appropriate for him/her.
— Motivate, teach and attract new membership to the Learn to Swim and Age-group program.
— Respond to emergency situations as required
— Up to date on latest coaching techniques through research and/or continuing education through USA Swimming and/or ASCA.
— Maintain active USA Swimming Coaches Credentials, and CPR/AED/First Aid certifications at a minimum.
— Be a dedicated, driven and fun-loving individual who is invested in the success of the athletes that they coach.

 

Qualifications:

— Desire and passion for developing swimmers of all ages and talent levels (Required)

— A personal desire to succeed professionally and advance the team. Leadership qualities that bring elevation to the team. (Required)

— Strong interpersonal communication, organizational and administrative skills to deal effectively with swimmers, parents and staff. Someone who is process focused (Required)

— ASCA Level 2 Certification Required (or ability to acquire within 12 months of hire)

— USA Swimming Certified Coach, CPR/AED certified with 3-5 years of coaching and/or competitive swimming experience at the club or collegiate level. (Required)

— Bachelor of Science/ Bachelor of Arts (Preferred) in relevant areas to coaching such as: Education, Exercise Science, Nutrition, Psychology etc.

— A Strong background as a swim lesson coordinator and/or instructor with a minimum of 2+ years of experience (Preferred)

— Computer skills with Hytek, Team Unify, and Microsoft Office applications (Preferred)
