Job Title: Head Senior Coach
Reports To: Head Coach/Owner, Aspire Aquatics of Colorado
Location: Centennial, Colorado
Position Overview:
The Head Senior Coach at Aspire Aquatics of Colorado is responsible for leading all aspects of 13 & Over training groups focusing on athlete development, technical progression, and fostering a positive and competitive swim culture. This role involves high-level coaching, effective communication with athletes and parents, and targeted administrative tasks. The Head Coach will ensure a structured and progressive training environment, preparing swimmers for advancement within the program.
Key Responsibilities:
Coaching and Athlete Development
- Lead all Strength and Inspire group practices, ensuring structured, progressive training plans.
- Design and implement seasonal training programs that focus on technical proficiency, endurance, and race strategy.
- Provide individualized feedback to athletes to support their development and motivate them to reach their full potential.
- Monitor and evaluate athlete progress through attendance tracking, performance analysis, and video review.
- Coach at all meets attended by Strength and Inspire athletes, including travel meets.
- Work closely with the Landow Performance dry land coach to integrate dryland training into the overall development plan.
- Utilize mental skills training, recovery strategies, and race analysis to optimize performance.
Leadership and Administration
- Model and reinforce Aspire Aquatics’ vision, mission, and core values.
- Collaborate with the Head Coach and coaching staff to ensure consistent training philosophies and athlete progression.
- Communicate regularly with athletes and parents regarding training expectations, meet schedules, and performance updates.
- Assist in meet selection, entry processes, and team logistics for local and travel competitions.
- Maintain professional and respectful interactions with parents, athletes, and fellow staff members.
- Attend team meetings, contribute to program planning, manage our practice schedule, and assist in leading parent meetings.
- Promote Aspire Aquatics’ events and fundraising initiatives, including team-hosted meets and outreach programs.
Parent and Community Engagement
- Maintain availability to meet with parents to discuss athlete progress, college preparation, and other swimming-related topics.
- Foster a positive and inclusive team culture focused on accountability, teamwork, and sportsmanship.
- Proactively engage with parents to ensure strong communication and alignment on athlete goals.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- At least 8 years of USA Swimming coaching experience.
- Proven track record of coaching and developing Sectional or higher-level athletes.
- Experience with a USA Swimming Bronze Medal Club or higher preferred.
- Strong knowledge of competitive swimming, stroke mechanics, and training methodologies.
- Previous competitive swimming experience.
- Excellent communication, time management, and organizational skills.
- Experience with budgeting, forecasting, and billing is advantageous.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Team Unify, and Team Manager preferred.
- Current CPR/AED certifications and compliance with USA Swimming requirements.
- Energetic, enthusiastic, and customer service-oriented with strong interpersonal skills.
