GLENSIDE – The Arcadia University Department of Athletics and Recreation has announced the elevation of John Fimmano to the position of Interim Head Men’s and Women’s Swimming Coach. Fimmano begins his new role on August 16th.
“I’d like to thank Executive Director of Athletics and Recreation Brian Granata, Associate Director of Athletics Mike Hebenstreit, and the entire Arcadia community for this amazing opportunity,” Fimmano explained. “I am fortunate to already be familiar with this amazing and accomplished group of student-athletes, and I am excited to be entrusted with this opportunity to help them reach their full potential.”
Fimmano served as the Assistant Coach of the Knights during the last two seasons, helping lead the men to a second-place finish and the women to a fourth-place finish at the 2023 Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) Championships. In 2022, Fimmano helped the programs to third and fifth place, respectively.
“Coach Fimmano has been a stabilizing force for Arcadia swimming over the course of the past two years,” Granata said. “He cares deeply for this program and works tirelessly to support his student-athletes. He has earned the opportunity to lead our swimming program.”
Fimmano earned his Bachelor’s from the University of Scranton in 2021, where he was a four-year member of the Royals program, earning multiple First- and Second-Team All-Landmark Recognition.
